In Help! Straight Talk for Surviving the College Search, Jason Lum and Dr. Nelson Soken unravel the many issues parents and teens face when applying for college and finding ways to pay for it. The authors tackle a wide range of issues during this major transition including the emotional and relationship challenges facing parents and teens along with the nuts and bolts of the college application process.
No topic is too controversial to discuss, covering hot topics such as college rankings, fraternities and sororities, working off-campus, and financial aid. Lum and Soken offer families frank advice about what works – and what doesn’t – when exploring college options.
The authors take a no-holds barred approach and offer candid reflections on all things college that often differs from what high schools and college counselors tell families.
This thought-provoking book will challenge families to think differently about the college search and strengthen family relationships and lead to your teen achieving great success in applying to college.
